This week the GT Factory Racing team travelled to Fort William to begin their final preparations for Round 1 of the World Cup.

Team Director Dan Brown said “I couldn’t be happier with where we are right now. The riders are in great shape both physically and mentally – we have a new Junior rider in Taylor Vernon who’s literally popping with energy and enthusiasm and already posting results to match his tremendous drive and great attitude. We have new kit, a fantastic new trailer and pits set up and a new bike that’s making all four riders smile from ear to ear. Add to that the support of three great new sponsors and you can see why we can hardly wait to get started.”

The New GT Fury had its official launch in Fort William Scotland. It’s the product of intense collaboration and a demonstration of the great working relationship between Etienne the engineer at GT and the Downhill team who have pushed these prototype bikes as hard as possible during the design process.

Marc Beaumont said “The new Fury is easily the best handling Downhill bike I have ever ridden, racing it so much fun.”

Gee agreed – “We really have pushed this one to the limits – it feels amazing.”

To match the new team bike One Industries have designed a new race kit and a new range of merchandise for the team, last year’s stealth black has been transformed by the addition of the team’s eye-catching yellow! Rachel said “It’s nice to be in brand new fresh race kit to start off the brand new World Cup season – it feels like the icing on the cake after a long hard winter training, and I LOVE IT – it’s so bright – I’m ready to go right now!” The team will be selling race jerseys for the first time exclusively at Fort William , race tops will be on offer along with new T-shirts and hardware before they are added to the team web shop.

This weekend’s race will be the first time that new sponsors Silverline Tools have been officially represented at a World Cup Mountain bike event though Product Manager Ben Purkiss is a major fan! Brand Manager James Tuck said “We are so excited, the team have already done us proud in the BDS and German Downhill races but Fort William promises to be something else.

The team are also thrilled to confirm their new partnerships with established Mountain bike brands Muc-off and Go-Pro.
