Velo Club LaGrange Invites All to Raymond Fouquet Memorial Ride

From Velo Club LaGrange: Raymond Fouquet Memorial Ride – Sunday Dec. 29 at 7:45am.
Everyone is welcome to join the ride and we hope to see you.

—————-
Today would have been Raymond Fouquet’s 93rd birthday. It is hard to believe he is gone.

The Nichols Ride on Sunday morning was one of Raymond’s favorites. In addition to supporting grass roots bicycle racing, the idea of bringing together his friends for a great ride was a big part of what he loved about cycling.

This Sunday, December 29, Velo Club LaGrange will do the Nichols Ride in Raymond’s honor. We will meet at the traditional meeting place at the corner of Westwood Boulevard and La Grange Avenue. Please meet us there at 7:45 am so we can get organized and make a few announcements.

The ride will be a moderate pace (No Drop) led by Marco Fantone. We ask you to please respect all the traffic laws and be courteous to all motor vehicles. The ride is about 30 miles and ends at Peet’s Coffee in Brentwood, so you can also park there are ride the three miles to the start in Westwood. We should be to Peet’s around 10am and you can get in more miles after if you like.

To further honor Raymond we would like all La Grange members to wear their current kits. All area riders from any club are also welcome and please join us and wear your club colors proudly as Raymond was all about supporting Southern California amateur bicycle racing.

We hope you will join us as Velo Club LaGrange proudly carries on Raymond Fouquet’s legacy. See you there!
