The SoCal Cup Bicycle Race #1 kicked off California Bicycle Racing’s eight race series in Dominguez Hills this past weekend. The racing was fast throughout the day with and added twist for the Pro 1-3 race that had $ 20 primes on the line each lap in a “Dash for Cash”.
In the Pro 1-3 race, a break of eleven motivated riders got up the road to fight it out for the cash. In the end, Tyler Magner (Hincapie Sportswear DEVO) soloed to the win just ahead of Tyler Locke (SoCalCycling.com / Craig Shelly) in 2nd, followed by Ryan Schneider (SoCalCycling.com / Craig Shelly) in 3rd to round out the podium.
The Women’s 1-3 race saw Shelby Reynolds (Monster Media) take the win, with Colleen Gulick (Team EPS/CSS p/b Shebell & Shebell) in 2nd and Kate Wilson (NOW Cycling) in 3rd.
The Masters 35 + B race saw Ben Travis (Surf City Cyclery/STERLING BMW), who won last weekends Ontario Grand Prix, repeat with a win! Teammate Charon Smith (Surf City Cyclery/STERLING BMW) finished in 2nd and Peter Andersen (SPY GIANT RIDE) rounded out the podium in 3rd.
