About the Club

Cycles Veloce, a.k.a. Team Simple Green, was established in 1982 as a competitive cycling team. Originally comprised of 15 members, Cycles Veloce (“Fast Cyclist” in Italian) quickly gained a national reputation for supporting young up-and-coming talent as well as offering a home for recreational and sport riders of all ages and capabilities.

Cycles Veloce has devoted much effort into growing the sport of competitive cycling and furthering the notion that cycling is a healthful and environmentally friendly sport. No air or water pollution, just exhilarating physical activity in the great outdoors. Cycling is a speed sport that doesn’t waste the earth’s limited resources or pollute the world we live in.

The club concept is also growing outside of its humble Southern California roots. Members and competitors are located in North Carolina, Colorado and even New York. Still, its main population of riders resides in Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange and San Diego counties. Cycles Veloce (Club Team name of Team Simple Green/Cannondale/Stage21) is an officially registered USA Cycling club (Club ID: 1176).
