Those who raced in the 90's surely remember the MTS Long Beach criterium series.  Those newer to the sport may know this course as the '02 UPS Criterium.   Well each and every Thursday night it's known as the Hughes Park ride.  During the early parts of the season there are regularly Cat 2's out and even the occasional Cat 1's or Pro rider will make an appearance. Usually though it's everyday racers including beginners and juniors that make up diverse pelotons that form during this dodgy workout.

Day: Tuesday and Thursday all year

Start Time: Tuesday at 7:00 pm,Thursday at 7:30 pm

Start: Hughes Business Park (northwest of the 710 & 405 freeway junction)

Duration: 55 min + 5 laps

Directions: Located northwest of the 710/405 freeway junction in Long Beach. Major cross streets are Carson St. and South Santa Fe Ave. Look for Carson and Via Oro Ave. (just east of Santa Fe)
