SoCalCycling.com was created in 1995, and even though regional in name, has become one of the top ranked cycling web sites in the world featuring: Cycling News, Videos & Photos, Event Calendars (Road Racing, Mountain Biking, Fun Rides / Tours and Cyclocross), Training Rides & GPS Info, Training Articles, Interviews, Product Reviews and more. SoCalCycling.com covers cycling in Southern California, North America and Worldwide.

As avid cyclists who love the sport, our goal is to promote and grow the sport of cycling on all levels and continue to be a trusted source and valuable resource to our cycling friends, riders, teams and clubs, the bike industry and event promoters.

SoCalCycling.com has enjoyed giving back to the sport and through the sponsorship of the SoCalCycling.com Elite Cycling Team for the past ten years with the goal of helping up and coming riders achieve their goals and develop as riders.

Christy Nicholson

Christy is a Partner / Marketing Director at SoCalCycling.com.

Christy competed nationally and internationally as a professional cyclist for 13 years, retiring in 2000. Today, she still loves to ride her road and mountain bike and jumps in group rides for fun.

Prior to her partnership with SoCalCycling.com, Christy was the founding partner and owner of All-Star Racing, a Sports Marketing Team, where she raced for and managed several of the top Professional Women’s Cycling Teams, which included Olympians, National Champions and World Champions. Christy oversaw the team, staff and logistics as well as presented the team to major corporations as a marketing tool through sponsorship of the team.  During that time, as an advocate for women’s cycling, she raised over $1,000,000 in sponsorship donations and facilitated promotions with clients, which included Chevrolet, Ralphs, Gillette, Reebok, Bausch and Lomb, Klein Bicycles and SC Johnson. In 1996, the Chevrolet / Klein Team won the Olympic Trials and National Criterium Championships, was the Best Overall Team in the Fresca Cup Series and was voted Best North American Women’s Team in the prestigious VeloNews Awards.

Christy is a founding partner and designer with Echelon Design, a full service web and graphic design studio and is a sponsor of the SoCalCycling.com Elite Team.

In addition, Christy enjoys photography, where many of her cycling photos can be viewed on SoCalCycling.com and Echelon Design Photo.

Christy graduated from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA with a BS in Business Management / Marketing. She also studied Computer Science emphasizing programming at the University of Alaska and University of Hawaii.  Additionally, she studied Computer Graphics and  Web Design at Chaffey College.

Frank Sarate
Partner l SoCalCycling.com Team Director
Frank is a Partner / Team Director at SoCalCycling.com. Frank has competed professionally in BMX, road cycling and as a semi-pro on the mountain bike with over 30 years involved in cycling.  Today, he still competes as a Category 1 racer with the SoCalCycling.com Elite Team, which he also directs.

Prior to partnering at SoCalCycling.com,  Frank was a  partner of All-Star Racing (1996-2002), a Sports Marketing Team which managed several of the top Professional Women’s Cycling Teams, including Olympians, National Champions and  World Champions.  Frank was the Team Director and oversaw the athletes and staff. Frank has been instrumental in bringing on and working with corporate sponsors, which include;  Ralphs Grocery Company, Reebok, Cannondale, Bausch & Lomb, SC Johnson, Michelob Ultra, Bull BBQ, PowerBar, Shimano Components, Giro Helmets and other industry sponsors. Frank’s tactical knowledge and organizational skills led Team Klein to 2 stage wins, 11 podium appearances and finished Best North American Team  at the HP International Stage Race. Frank was also instrumental in designing the team’s corporate identity, vehicle graphics, bike graphics, clothing and promotional materials.

In addition, Frank has been the Team Director of the SoCalCycling.com Elite Team from 2004-2014. He has successfully worked with sponsors to create successful and innovative marketing partnerships via sponsorship of the SoCalCycling.com Elite Team.

Frank is also a founding partner and designer with Echelon Design.

Frank studied Computer Graphics and Two Dimensional Art Design at Chaffey College.
