know of 2 riders interested in a track series. I was wondering if there would be a lot of interest?
I figure, during road season it is hard to pull women in too many directions since our numbers are limited. I also am aware people tend to choose uscf races over track events at times so trying to have a weekend track race series for women during regular road series is not an option at this time.
I also know that over the winter a lot of "tactics" and handling skills take a side bar.
Hence my question is: Would women be interested if we had some classes clinics at our socal velodromes during late fall and winter to keep our bike skills in check so we are ready to ride safely in Feb on the road?
This way also, there would be no conflict.
I would need an ADT contact and experienced preferrably female track rider to help with this series. It would be low key and basically a keep in shape and learn type series.
I know that track riders usually have great bike handling skills and it would be great to have that spill over into the early road season next year.
And I would also benefit as I am not yet as comfortable on the track as I am on the road. I would get to learn too!
Question: Is there an interest in track clinics/skills and a mini track series? |
