SDSR: Teutenberg, Young Win Crit, Armstrong and Andy Jacques-Maynes Take GC
3/18/12 - Specialized-lululemon's Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won the final stage of the San Dimas Stage race on Sunday with teammate Clara Hughes finishing second overall.
"We wanted to be aggressive," said team director Ronny Lauke. "The aim was to make it hard from the beginning and try to create a winning situation out of a break whilst always looking for opportunities to try to get Clara away for GC."

After only 18 minutes of the 55-minute race, Teutenberg followed an attack and the winning break formed. The break stayed away until the finish and Teutenberg won the sprint. "It felt good to be in the break today," said Teutenberg. "I always enjoy this criterium and I love to race it hard."
The Pro Men's race came down to a field sprint after a long break away was reeled in at the end. In the race to the line, US National Criterium Champion Eric Young (Bissell Pro Cycling) came in for the win just ahead of Ken Hanson (Optum pb Kelly Benefit Strategies) in 2nd and Patrick Bevin (Bissell Pro Cycling) in 3rd.

Overall GC
The race for the Overall GC, saw Andy Jacques-Maynes (Kenda/5hr Energy p/b Geargrinder) win the Pro Men's race after three days of hard racing in brutal conditions. Rob Britton (Competitive Cyclist Racing Team) was 2nd, followed by Joseph Schmalz (ELBOWZ RACING) in 3rd, Nathan English (Kenda/5hr Energy p/b Geargrinder) in 4th and Andy Jacques-Maynes twin brother Ben Jacques-Maynes (BISSELL Pro Cycling) in 5th.

In the Women's Pro race, Olympian Kristin Armstrong (Exergy/Twenty12) topped the podium with the Overall win, followed by Six-Time Olympic Medalist Clara Hughes (Team Specialized lululemon) in 2nd, Joelle Numainville (Optum Pro Cycling p/b Kelly Benefits) in 3rd, Jade Wilcoxson (Optum Pro Cycling p/b Kelly Benefits) in 4th and Allison Powers (NOW and Novartis for MS) in 5th.

The Pro Men's and Women's teams will be heading east to the Inland Empire to compete in the Redlands Bicycle Classic which is held March 22-25.
