The 2025 Costa Mesa Grand Prix brought a thrilling close to summer cycling on Sunday, August 10, in Costa Mesa, CA. Hosted in partnership with the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Majestic Cycling, the event combined high-speed competition with community impact, benefiting local nonprofits. Riders battled for podium spots in the SCNCA Masters Criterium Championship, Pro-Elite races, and numerous age-based divisions. Notable winners included Alex Akins (TMB Racing) in the Pro Men 1/2 race, Colleen Gulick (Team Skyline – Cadence) in the Pro-Elite Women’s field, and Bart Clifford (E-Voke Racing) in the Masters 55–59 championship, cementing the Grand Prix’s reputation as a must-attend race on the late-summer cycling calendar.

SCNCA Masters Criterium Championship Debut

This year’s edition marked the first time the Southern California/Nevada Cycling Association (SCNCA) Masters Criterium Championship was held at the Costa Mesa Grand Prix. Top Masters racers from across the region battled for coveted championship titles, delivering intense, tactical racing from start to finish.

Pro-Elite Showdown & Full Day of Racing

The action-packed schedule featured USA Cycling–sanctioned races across multiple categories, highlighted by the Pro-Elite race with a $5,000 purse. The fast-paced circuit and competitive fields kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the day.

Family Fun, BMX Stunts & Local Flavor

Beyond the racing, the Grand Prix delivered something for everyone—a free kids race, BMX freestyle half-pipe shows, a Health & Wellness Expo, and an array of food trucks showcasing local flavors. Families, cycling fans, and casual visitors enjoyed a festival-like atmosphere in the heart of Costa Mesa.
