This year the 30th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic brought back the popular Highland Circuit Race after being gone since 2003.
As a former racer that competed in the Redlands Bicycle Classic nine times, the Highland Circuit Race was one of my all time favorite races to do. It has a hard steep climb that seems to get steeper every lap, a fast downhill (where you can smell the rubber from the brakes by the bottom) and a fun twisty section that feels like a roller coaster ride at the bottom.
One of the best things about taking photos this year was talking to the residents who live along the course and hearing how excited they were to have the race back in their neighborhood! Hopefully, the Highland Circuit Race can be a permanent Stage of the Redlands Bicycle Classic in the years to come!
