This weekend provided some great racing with the GMR Challenge Time Trial which gave riders a chance to test their legs while going against the clock for nine miles up one of SoCal’s best climbs. In Costa Mesa, the CBR Now Energy Bar Criterium provided the speedsters a fast venue.
In the Pro 1-3 race at the CBR Now Energy Bar Criterium in Costa Mesa, it was a Dash for Cash format with a sprint on the line for $20 each lap, that saw a break of nine riders escape the field twenty minutes in. While the break was raking in the cash, the SoCalCycling.com Team kept the pressure on to bring back the break just in time for the finishing sprint  for the win. Rahsaan Bahati (Bahati-WTR), who was in the break, had a little left in the tank to take the win ahead of Surf City Cyclery/STERLING BMW teammates Kayle Leo Grande in 2nd and Charon Smith in 3rd.
In the Women’s 1-3 race, a small field of 15 riders took to the line. In the end, Suzanne Sonye (Monster Media) took the win over Angelica Frayre (Incycle pb Full Circle) for 2nd and Daniela Garcia (ICE SPORTSWEAR Cycling Team) in 3rd.
