For the fourth year in a row, the JETCycling U23 Women’s Development Team, a 501 c 3 Non-Profit will be announcing their roster in the up and coming weeks. The team is made up of international riders from different parts of the world. Their mission is to give young ladies under 23 the ability to race at the top levels of their profession. In the 2015 season, JETCycling will embark on a tour around the United States on the National Race Calendar(NRC) and National Criterium Calendar(NCC) for USA Cycling, in addition to a couple of months racing in Europe.
JETCycling Director and Founder, JET Tanner, stated, “We have an amazing team comprised of some of the best young female riders in the world from New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Israel, England, South Africa, Mexico, Canada and the United States. This is a diverse team with a lot of talent.” JET goes on to say, “We are excited to be competing against the best professional teams in the United States. With our average age of 19, we will be the youngest team in the professional peloton.”
The USA Cycling NRC and NCC are filled with a lot of quality racing. “The team focus will be growing and developing the skills necessary to move to the next level,” stated JET, “the ability to learn and make mistake will only make them better, and more qualified as cyclists.” JETCycling cannot wait to kick off the season in February of 2015.
During the week of December 29, 2014 to January 4, 2015, JETCycling will hold their winter training camp preparing for the season. The evening of January 3rd, 2015 will be the team launch, where the sponsors, riders, and staff will be introduced to the world at Bike Religion, in Dana Point, California. This event will be on UStream to watch it live on the web. “This is exciting, and we are looking forward to supporting JETCycling throughout the year,” stated Michael Lanzon, Owner of Bike Religion. Michael went on to comment, “Women’s cycling is the next big thing and we see it growing and getting more traction for 2015. We are vested and looking forward to supporting the next generation of champions.”
“This announcement and team is amazing!” stated JP Brocket, who is on the JETCycling Board of Directors. “It’s a game changer, getting into an area that did not support young ladies in the sport of cycling. JETCycling is paving the way, building the farm, for the next generation of young talented ladies in our sport. Exciting times, a very exciting momentum, and the time is right.”
The JETCycling U23 Women’s Development Team will start their racing season in February 2015 and continue throughout the year to October 2015. With races like Redlands Classic, the Amgen Tour of California, the Tour of Utah and a number of other high quality televised women’s races, the future is bright. “We believe we are at the right place at the right time,” said JET, “Women’s Cycling is on the rise and the time is now. They need to be in the spotlight.”
