On Tap: This Weekend’s Cycling Events

This weekend plays host to several cycling events that offer great racing and spectating and a special way for Dads to celebrate Father’s Day on the bike.

The 805 Criterium Weekend will be held Friday through Sunday, June 19 through June 21, 2015 and will encompass both bike racing and spectator events on all three days, in two different “805” cities on California’s scenic Central Coast. Originally a single day of racing on Avenue of Flags in Buellton, California, the 805 Criterium, now in its fourth year, has expanded to include three separate race days in both Lompoc and Buellton, as well as spectator festivities on all three days such as live music, food trucks, beer and wine gardens, and a Father’s Day weekend blowout for the whole family with free Kids Bike Races on both Saturday (Buellton)  and Sunday (Lompoc), on the same courses that the pros will ride.

The Baja Bike Race, which is located in Baja California, Mexico will take place on Sunday, June 21st.  The Baja Bike Race route takes you through the gorgeous Baja wine country from the city of Tecate to the city of Ensenada with a total mileage count of 73 miles. The Baja Bike Race is a full race and fun ride for all.

Also, on June 21st, the Cyclo-Vets Summer Classic Criterium will take place hosting the Super Masters State Championship and events for all racing categories in the San Diego area.

We hope you have a great weekend of riding and be sure to check out these great cycling events.
