Tour de Big Bear, Southern California’s favorite riding experience, is raising the bar yet again with a new event category to reach and attract cycling’s very best. Saturday, August 6, 2016, in Big Bear Lake, California professional riders, racing community, ultra-endurance and elite athletes from all across the country will experience hors categorie (beyond category!) HC . . . and the ultimate high altitude ride with rider amenities that only be found in a pro peloton!
Tour de Big Bear HC . . . 122 grueling miles, 11,667 feet of climbing . . . ALL at an altitude between 6000’ & 8500 feet and with some of the best scenery California can offer! The event will have competitive elements including King/Queen of the Mountain and HC Points Climbing Competition for cash and prizes for podium winners!
Limited Entries in Field . . . athletes will receive “pro treatment” and special amenities to support and recognize their achievement. Plus . . . ONLY 250 rider’s maximum will compete and here is what those lucky few will experience:

Big Bear Lake is known as the “Cycling Capital of Southern California” having hosted many world class cycling events including three stages of the Amgen Tour of California, three stages of the Redlands Bicycle Classic and now seven years of Tour de Big Bear, in addition to many other world class mountain bike events. “Tour de Big Bear HC is yet another event to reach a new competitive market of cyclists,” stated Craig Smith, President of Big Bear Cycling and Chair of Tour de Big Bear. “We have offered road events from the recreational Tour de Big Bear to National Race Calendar and International Pro UCI events.
