The Majestic Cycling Criterium is held at the San Bernardino International Airport on a fun course with a lot of technical twist and turns. It is definitely not your typical four corner Crit.
With the temperature reaching 109 degrees this was going to be a race of attrition and survival. The Pro 1/2 race started out with nearly 20 riders, which on this technical course makes for a comfortable and safe race. With the breakaway of six riders starting things off, the remaining field would be lapped by the 6 riders. With 3 laps remaining Tyler Locke (Centric Bikes) and Chris Rea separated themselves to sprint ahead of the remaining breakaway riders. Chris Rea outsprinted Tyler Locke for first and second. With the remaining field content to sprint it out amongst each other, John Garbo (Pacific Premier Bank Cycling Team) came in ahead of the rest of remaining breakaway riders for third.
