Barrick has come on as the title sponsor for this amazing classic race. Barrick also supports the Annual Beatty Beer and Taco Mountain Bike Festival, to be held over the same weekend, and has been a major partner in development of the Beatty/Oasis Valley trails master plan.
“Barrick is very pleased to support what we believe will be the first of many major cycling events associated with the Beatty/Oasis Valley Trails Project. Barrick is proud to be working alongside all of the project’s proponents and supporters, including the Town of Beatty, the Bureau of Land Management, and STORM-OV to make Beatty an internationally-recognized destination for outdoor recreation opportunities including mountain biking. Beatty sits in the center of a vast and beautiful area of public lands which are available for all Americans to enjoy” – Tim Buchanan, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, Barrick
Cannondale has been Tinker’s bike sponsor for over 20 years! It is fully fitting and exciting to have Cannondale sign on as the Tinker Classic Supporting Sponsor. Cannondale lives its mantra well, “We never settle in or quest to create the perfect ride.” Their bikes are outstanding. We are incredibly excited to have them offer their top-notch support at the Tinker Classic!
The race will showcase the beauty and literally hundreds of trails and old mining roads there are to explore in the Oasis Valley. Nestled near the historic mining enclave of Beatty, Nevada and at the doorsteps of Death Valley National Park, participants will be riding through a majestic Mojave Desert landscape with abundant wildlife and expansive views.
The course offers two distances, a 100 K option which offers a generous $3000 cash payout that is equal for both men and women pro’s, and a shorter 60 K option. Although much of the course is on historic mining route, this race is by no means a “Gravel Grinder.”
The wealth of experience and knowledge Tinker holds is beyond fathomable. And his vision has created a course in the ‘Classic “style of racing that comes from his roots. Tinker wanted to assure steep climbs and chunky terrain, along with fantastic straight-a-ways to provide racers the ability to use cunning race tactics to secure their position.
Tinker says it best, “It has been my wish for literally decades to create an event in the “classic” style of mountain biking, with long climbs, and throttling straight-ways, in an unmatched peaceful landscape. God bless each of you for helping me live my dreams and manifest this dream of my own race. I do this to honor my fans. My wish is you will all join me to celebrate cycling, along with my life’s work of inspiring happiness and health through cycling!” He wants to ensure you have the opportunity to meet and ride with him in person.
Plan to join Tinker for the mountain bike race featuring 60 and 100-kilometer distance options. Stay for the entire family friendly weekend in Beatty, or camp onsite at generous host, Dave Spicer’s amazing desert Ranch.
The race will take place on May 6th, 2017 in Beatty Nevada. Where is Beatty? Great question. It is only 90 miles from the Las Vegas International airport!
Registration is now open and space is limited. For more information, and to register, please go to www.TinkerClassic.com.
Tinker has partnered with Gro Races, New Age Athlete whom he coaches with, and Trails-OV to activate the nostalgia of classic mountain bike racing, complete with good vibrations only Tinker can inspire.
