The Tour de Murrieta is taking place this weekend from March 10-11 in Murrieta and features a criterium and circuit race in an omnium format, which allows riders to compete in both events or each event individually. This year some much-needed rain came down for the race, which made the course wet and slick, especially in the brick sections.
In the Pro 1-2 race, Justin Williams (Williams Racing) took the win ahead of a fast charging Ama Nsek (M2W Academy Team) in 2nd and Cory Williams (Elevate-KHS Pro Cycling) in 3rd.
The Women’s 1-3 race was won by Esther Walker (SDBC / Emerald Textiles pb UC Cyclery) in a solo move, with Shelby Reynolds (Monster Media Elite Women) winning the field sprint for 2nd and Maddy Ward (SDBC / Emerald Textiles pb UC Cyclery) in 3rd to round out the podium.
