Riders, runners and walkers connected virtually at the 2020 UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge across 45 states (and Canada) and raised more than $710,000 as of October 9 in support of the researchers who will stop at nothing to defeat cancer. That’s a new record for Anti-Cancer Challenge participant fundraising and a number that continues to grow as donations stream in ahead of the October 31 fundraising deadline.
The fourth annual Challenge Day, October 3, began with a virtual opening ceremony co-hosted by UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz and KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo. Country music artist Rick Monroe performed the national anthem.
Challenge Day award recipients included:
Best Dressed: Team Mike—Biking with Big Blue and Marcia TOO!
Most Spirited: Team Hicks Chicks
Most Inspirational: Katie F.
Top Fundraising Team: Team Grandma Marcia
Top Fundraiser: Shawn M.
