Southern California featured some awesome competitive cycling events over Mothers’s Day Weekend including the 40th Annual Boulevard Road Race, Go Fast in Upland Criterium and Fiesta Island Time Trial.
40th Annual Boulevard Road Race
The iconic Boulevard Road Race celebrated its 40th anniversary with a challenging course on the outskirts of San Diego. The race featured a 22 mile loop on deserted back country roads with a rolling uphill climb and a smooth fast descent. Race categories list 44, 66, or 88-mile options with 1800 ft of climbing per lap.
Boulevard Road Race ResultsGo Fast in Upland Criterium
The inaugural Go Fast in Upland Criterium was well held on a dynamic .5 mile long course with nine turns at Memorial Park in Upland, California. This first year event was a big hit with the racers who enjoyed racing on the fun and challenging course that was a great way to challenge their fitness and bike handling skills. We hope to see the Go Fast in Upland Criterium return as a permanent race on the SoCal Bike Racing Calendar!
Fiesta Island Time Trial
Fiesta Island Time Trials is San Diego’s original time trial series since 1968, sponsored by the San Diego Bicycle Club. Time trials are known as the race of truth as cyclists race against the clock for their best time. Cyclists will have one more chance in 2024 to race against the clock at the Fiesta Island Time Trial on September 29th.
