2024 was my first year racing for the SoCalCycling.com Team and my first time wearing Pactimo clothing. I have to say, I am impressed with every piece of the Team kit. However, the Alpine Thermal LS Jersey stands out as a particularly useful garment.
Material and Construction Highlights
I am between 6’1” and 6’2” tall, I weigh 165 pounds and I wear a size medium. When I first tried the Alpine Thermal LS Jersey on, I immediately noticed the comfortable, form-fitting feeling of a well-made jersey. The inside of the jersey is a felt-like material that feels soft and warm against the skin. The outside of the jersey is a more durable material with some reflective stripes on the arms and back. The combination of the soft interior and the durable exterior makes for a unique jersey that performs well in a variety of conditions.
Performance in Chilly and Wet Weather
About two weeks before the Redlands Bicycle Classic I was out for a hard five-hour training ride in wet, chilly weather. There was a 50% chance of rain all day and it was about 58 degrees. I wanted to be prepared in case the skies opened up, but I also wanted to stay cool for the hard efforts during the ride. I wore a thin base layer, one Pactimo Summit Aero Mesh Jersey and the Alpine Thermal LS Jersey on top. I was perfectly comfortable throughout the entire ride.
Ideal Conditions and Versatility
The Alpine Thermal LS Jersey is the perfect choice for temperatures ranging from 40 to 60 degrees. The jersey is quite forgiving during large swings in temperature and humidity. It does a good job of keeping the core body temperature constant while the elements ebb and flow.
