CicLAvia—Historic South Central Meets Watts 2025: 6.25 Miles of Car-Free Streets
CicLAvia will return on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with its 62nd car-free, open streets event: CicLAvia—Historic South Central meets Watts. The event will transform 6.25 miles of South Central Avenue into a vibrant, car-free space connecting Historic South Central, Florence, Firestone, and Watts.
This free community event invites Angelenos of all ages and abilities to walk, bike, skate, jog, or simply explore the route at their own pace. Participants can enter the event at any point along the route and enjoy the day as a temporary “pop-up park” in the heart of Los Angeles.

A Community Tradition
Since its launch in 2010, CicLAvia has welcomed nearly two million participants across Los Angeles, covering more than 349 miles of open streets. Inspired by Bogotá’s ciclovía, the nonprofit organization creates opportunities for healthier lifestyles, stronger community connections, and more sustainable transportation options. Each event highlights the diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles and supports local businesses while encouraging residents to reimagine city streets.
Getting There
CicLAvia is accessible by Metro, walking groups, biking, and feeder rides. There is no official start or finish line, allowing participants to join at any point along the route. Additional transportation details, including parking and bus detours, are available on the CicLAvia website.

CicLAvia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming Los Angeles streets into safe, car-free public spaces. By opening streets for people-powered transportation, CicLAvia promotes environmental health, active living, and community connection. Each event provides Angelenos the opportunity to explore the city in a new way, discover local culture, and enjoy a healthier, more sustainable Los Angeles.
Only people-powered vehicles are allowed. No electric scooters, electric skateboards, hoverboards, electric unicycles, motorcycles and other non-people-powered vehicles are allowed at CicLAvia. Class 1 e-bike pedal-assist allowed. Class 2 e-bikes are allowed when the throttle is powered off. Class 3 e-bikes are allowed when pedal-assist is powered off.
