2025 Vuelta a España –
Stage 10 to Stage 15 Highlights
Second Week Drama in the Vuelta
The second week of the 2025 Vuelta a España brought fireworks with relentless climbing, daring breakaways, and a mix of chaos and triumph. While Jonas Vingegaard (Visma–Lease a Bike) remained steady in the leader’s red jersey, UAE Team Emirates–XRG stamped its authority with multiple stage victories, and the sprinters finally had their chance to shine before the next block of mountains.
Watch the Extended Video Highlights
Fans can relive every attack, climb, and sprint by watching the extended video highlights for each stage. From Vine’s mountain dominance to Almeida’s epic win on the Angliru and Pedersen’s breakthrough sprint, the highlights capture all the decisive moments that shaped the second week of racing.
Across these six stages, UAE Team Emirates–XRG dominated with four victories, showcasing their depth and strength. Yet Jonas Vingegaard (Visma–Lease a Bike) remains in control of the red jersey, setting the stage for a thrilling final week.
Stage 10 – Vine Doubles Up in the Mountains
Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates–XRG) delivered his second win of the race with a commanding performance on the final climb. A strong chase group tried to respond, but Vine’s timing proved perfect. Vingegaard stayed close behind, keeping the general classification battle tight while other contenders lost precious seconds.
Stage 11 – A Neutralized Day in Bilbao
What was meant to be a punchy Basque stage ended with no declared winner after disruptions forced organizers to neutralize the final kilometers. Attacks flew before the stoppage, but with no official result, riders in the overall standings carried their time gaps unchanged into the next day.
Stage 12 – Ayuso Outsmarts the Breakaway
Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates–XRG) showed tactical sharpness, playing possum before launching his sprint to claim the stage from a late two-man move. His victory underlined the depth of UAE’s squad, while Vingegaard once again finished safely in the peloton to defend his lead.
Stage 13 – Almeida Conquers the Angliru
The feared slopes of the Angliru delivered high drama as João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates–XRG) attacked with precision to take the prestigious win. Vingegaard limited the damage by following closely, but Almeida’s triumph cut the overall margin and brought new tension to the battle for red.
Stage 14 – Soler Goes Solo to Glory
Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates–XRG) made it a hat-trick of mountain victories for his team by attacking from the breakaway and holding off all challengers on the final summit. Behind, the main contenders marked each other closely, with no major shake-up in the standings.
Stage 15 – Pedersen Finally Breaks Through
After several near misses, Mads Pedersen (Lidl–Trek) got his reward with a powerful sprint from a reduced breakaway group. The win also strengthened his grip on the green points jersey. Vingegaard and the GC rivals crossed the line safely, with the overall picture unchanged heading into the third week.
