Ride with Rusch – Saturday, September 9
Kickoff your SLO Ultra weekend and get an exclusive preview of Wild Cherry Canyon with badass Rebecca Rusch! This casual VIP ride and up-close and personal conversation includes an autographed poster, autographed “Rusch To Glory” book and food and beverages in the VIP Tent at the Festival.
Run with Krissy – Sunday, September 10
The 40 minute recovery run/hike will meet in the Festival tent. Participants will enjoy a casual group run followed by food and beverages and intimate conversation with Krissy. The event will begin at 10:00am. Registrants will also receive Krissy’s book Running Your First Ultra as well as an autographed poster.
Special Screening of Blood Road – Friday, September 8!
Blood Road follows the journey of ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier.
During this poignant voyage of self-discovery, the women push their bodies to the limit while learning more about the historic ‘Blood Road’ they’re pedaling and how the Vietnam War shaped their lives in different ways.
Friday, September 8 in Avila Beach, CA @ 6:00pm. Limited to 100 people.
