Southern California Cyclocross Prestige Series (SoCal Cross), held “Udo Cross” in memory of Udo Conrad Heinz on Sunday at Lake Hodges in Escondido. Heinz, a prominent personality in the San Diego cycling scene, was struck and killed on August 4 by a bus while riding with friends on Camp Pendleton and “Udo Cross” was a nice way to honor and pay tribute to Udo on one of his favorite riding spots.
