For 2020, the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge is going virtual.
The safety of our Anti-Cancer Challenge community is of the utmost importance to us. We’re honoring current social distancing recommendations and safeguarding your health by transforming the Anti-Cancer Challenge into an eight-week virtual fundraising and wellness program that connects participants across the United States – which means you can ride, run or walk virtually with friends and family in any state.
The program begins Aug. 8 and concludes with a virtual community celebration on Oct. 3. You’re invited to participate in weekly virtual fitness challenges, where tracking your miles can make you eligible for great prizes. Join us for virtual wellness classes and educational webinars featuring renowned UCI Health faculty. It all culminates in a virtual Challenge Day celebration event on Oct. 3.
This year, instead of the traditional festival and events in one location on Challenge Day, you can run, ride or walk to raise funds for cancer research from any location, or simply celebrate the people in your life who have been touched by cancer. What’s more, there is no registration fee or fundraising commitment to participate in any 2020 Anti-Cancer Challenge activity. If you are already registered for the 2020 event, your registration is valid for the virtual program and celebration on Oct. 3.
Even if we are apart this year, our Anti-Cancer Challenge mission remains the same – to raise awareness and funds for critical cancer research. One-hundred percent of participant proceeds support life-saving cancer research at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Your participation in the Anti-Cancer Challenge will help to make the next discovery possible.
