The 2013 Amgen Tour of California got underway in Escondido under blistering hot conditions that saw the peloton go up the East Grade of Palomar Mountain. We captured the action on the steep Cole Grade, which is has a 9 % gradient, as the riders went for the final KOM points of the day.
