The San Dimas Stage Race continued with the San Dimas Community Hospital Road Race around Lake Puddingstone and Bonelli Park. The course was modified from recent years to include a new climb called Heckler’s Hill that added a new dynamic to the race. The climb up Canon Ave. was not included this year, but the new course proved to be challenging with the new terrain, heat and wind.
There was some great racing action in all categories. In the Pro men’s race, Robin Carpenter (Hincapie Sportwear) won from a fast field sprint to the line. Emerson Oronte (Alto Velo pb SeaSucker) held on to the GC lead.
In the women’s race, Lex Albrecht (Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) won from a fast charging field. Amber Neben (Visit Dallas Cycling p/b Noise) retained the leaders jersey.
