The CBR SoCal Cup Finale Criterium was the final race of the SoCal Cup Series and with the last chance to earn SoCal Cup points and $100 primes up for grabs in the Pro 1-3 and Women’s race, a fast day of racing ensued.
Perpetual winner, Charon Smith (Surf City Cyclery / Sterling BMW) skipped the Masters race to focus on the Pro 1-3 race, which paid off with him winning in a fast field sprint ahead of teammate Kayle LeoGrande in second and Orlando Garibay (Incycle / Cannondale) in third. Corey Williams (Incycle / Cannondale) finished fifth, which awarded him enough points to claim the SoCal Cup Series title.
In the Women’s Race, Esther Walker (SDBC / Emerald Textiles) won after picking up numerous $100 primes along the way. Priscilla Calderon (LA Sweat) took second place, followed by Colleen Gullick (Team EPS/CSS p/b Shebell & Shebell) in third. Pam Schuster (SPY GIANT RIDE p/b GQ-6) tallied enough SoCal Cup points this season to win the overall in the SoCal Cup Series.
