Cylance, the company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity with products and services that use artificial intelligence to proactively prevent advanced persistent threats and malware, today announced a title sponsorship with Inspire Sports LLC and Incycle Bicycle to establish a new U.S.-registered Men’s UCI Continental team, the Cylance-Incycle presented by Cannondale Pro Cycling Team. The team will focus on USA Cycling’s National Events Calendar (NEC), starting with the Redlands Classic in California, April 6-10.
After announcing the creation of a UCI Cylance Pro Cycling Women’s World Tour team in November, Omer Kem, founder of Inspire Sports and Stuart McClure, CEO of Cylance Inc., saw opportunity to create a men’s continental team as part of their vision of strengthening sponsorships and gender equity in sports. “To have both a women’s and men’s team doubles the exposure of our mission to inspire girls, boys, women and men around the world to live healthy lives and pursue their athletic goals,” Kem stated. Like the women’s team, the men’s team will also combine racing with charity sporting events to raise money for local athletics, including cycling.
Team naming rights partners Incycle Bicycles and Cannondale successfully operated the Incycle-Cannondale Pro Cycling Team in 2015. Incycle Bicycles is one of the top retailers of Cannondale bicycles in the world and Cannondale is a global leader in bicycle manufacturing. Incycle owner Dominic Galenti says the emerging sponsorship of Cylance, Cannondale and Incycle is a solid building block for all involved. “We have worked with Cannondale for years, and our men’s program was ready to take the next step. With Cylance on board, we’re all moving forward.”
The members of the Cylance–Incycle Men’s Team include 2015 NCC overall champion, Hilton Clarke (USA), who also served as team captain of UnitedHealthcare Cycling. Joining Clarke will be U.S. riders Justin Williams, Cory Williams, Hunter Grove, Cory Greenberg, Josh Ruiz and Camilo Zambrano. Orlando Garibay and Diego Sandoval of Mexico, and Colombian racer Andres Diaz complete the 2016 roster.
“We believe sports can be a critical component to a happy and healthy life and we want to empower everyone to get active and achieve their goals,” said Omer Kem, “Cylance-Incycle presented by Cannondale Pro Cycling Team members will be role models to athletes of all sports, male and female, not only for their accomplishments on the team, but also as they strive to represent their sponsors in communities as ambassadors. Our relationship with Cylance, Incycle and Cannondale will help these talented riders reach that goal.”
“Cycling is a sport that promotes an active lifestyle along with values of sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, persistence and endurance. These values are the bedrock of Cylance and our mission to protect the planet,” said Stuart McClure, founder and CEO of Cylance. “We’re excited to be the title sponsor in 2016 and look forward to seeing the team excel across the country.”
