At the 2015 Amgen Tour of California, Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) held the leaders jersey heading into the tough Mt. Baldy Stage and many questioned if he could hold the lead after Baldy. As the leaders approached the final kilometers, it was exciting to see Sagan come around the bend just seconds behind Julian Alaphilippe (Etixx – Quick-Step Pro Cycling Team) and Sergio Luis Henao Montoya (Team Sky) as the two attacked the steep switchbacks on Mt. Baldy.
Sagan was determined that day and today his determination paid off at Gent-Wevelgem while wearing the rainbow stripes.
