“Fast Freddie” Rodriguez, four-time U.S. National Road Race Champion, seven-time Tour de France competitor and Giro d’Italia stage winner capped off Pink Taco’s “Powered By Pink Taco” campaign on Sunday in Los Angeles to boost awareness on Pink Taco’s athlete-friendly fare and the benefits of tacos as performance fuel.
Rodriguez was joined by champion cyclists Justin Williams, Rahsaan Bahati and other notables from the world of cycling for a 2-hour ride through the Hollywood Hills and a recovery meal hosted by Pink Taco. Participants had the opportunity to experience Pink Taco’s farm-fresh menu, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and high-protein options created to meet every athlete’s dietary needs.

“Today was about the synergy of what we’re doing as athletes and the nutrition we need, whether you’re a professional or a cycling enthusiast,” said Rodriguez. “My coach always said the best recovery meal I could have is a burrito — beans, rice, chicken, avocado – all the food you can find on the Pink Taco menu. It’s healthy, balanced and exactly what we needed for the effort we gave out on the road.”
“We keep it simple, keep it fresh and keep it relevant,” said Pink Taco VP of Operations David Ficklen. “If you look across the landscape of what’s going on with food right now, everyone is trying to eat healthy and they’re really concerned about what they put into their bodies. For athletes, the right fuel is critical. Everything Pink Taco serves is fresh and made with the athlete’s needs in mind.”
To commemorate the event, Rodriguez and his Fast Freddie apparel company designed custom Pink Taco jerseys available for purchase here in both men’s and women’s styles.
