The Cylance Pro Cycling women’s team had their second team training camp for the year in Cambrils, Spain. The week focused on finalizing preparations for the 2017 season and intense training spent together on the bike. As the riders tested themselves and equipment against all terrains and conditions, the team became dialed and ready to begin racing.
The first team camp occurred in California in early November and was centered on sponsor activation and team building. This allowed a more training specific camp to happen after the New Year in Spain guaranteeing a powerful and successful start to the season.
The calculated efforts were rewarded with two victories and four podiums at the Santos Women’s Tour. Kirsten Wild winning two of the four stages and finishing 3rd overall.
Wild attributes the team’s Santos Women’s Tour success to the productive training camp. “We did some good efforts to get to know each other on and off the bike and it paid of” explains Wild. “The atmosphere is amazing and I’m looking forward to do more races together and I am sure if we keep going like this we get some nice results and more important: we will have a lot of fun and that makes all the hard work worth it!”
Through the long climbs and extensive miles, the team reinforced comradery and sacrifice. Cylance Pro Cycling balances professionalism and execution with raw enjoyment and the pure love of the sport. Check out the story of our team and our expectations for 2017 here.
“I am really proud of the work the women have done at home and at the training camp to start the season strong. We always have fun, laugh, and get along great. But when it is time to race, everyone is professional and ready to get the job done.” says Manel Lacambra, Director Sportif.
