Peter Glenn, a local vintage bike enthusiast, started a vintage ride in the Valley this summer and has confirmed that the final SFV Vintage Ride for 2017 is taking place this Sunday, December 17.
Peter refers to it as a “rolling bike show”. There are lots of beautifully restored bikes from the 70’s and 80’s, both American and European. The tone of the ride is pretty laid-back too and riders who don’t own anything vintage are welcome in the peloton, and while many of the group will be in wool jerseys there’s no problem with lycra (or other attire, within reason!).
It rolls from Serious Cycling in Northridge 19600 Plummer St (Northridge) at 9 am this Sunday along a 20-mile loop. Peter provides attendees with free coffee and pastries after the ride.
