Explore South Los Angeles During CicLAvia—Leimert Park Meets Expo Park
On Sunday, June 28, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., CicLAvia kicks off its 66th car-free open streets event, catalyzing vibrant public spaces, active transportation, and healthy living. CicLAvia—Leimert Park Meets Expo Park connects Leimert Park and Expo Park via Crenshaw Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, welcoming people of all ages and abilities to enjoy this day-long 3.6-mile pop-up park.
Walk, Bike, Skate, and Experience Open Streets
Always free to attend, participants can enjoy the day by walking, jogging, biking, skating, or simply spectating. Visitors can join the route from anywhere along the course and take time to explore the neighborhoods, local businesses, and community attractions along the way.
Three Community Hubs Offer Activities and Services
CicLAvia—Leimert Park Meets Expo Park includes three hubs filled with activities and programs. The Leimert Park Hub, King Estates Hub, and Expo Park Hub serve as gathering spaces and walking zones where participants can enjoy family-friendly activities, free water refill stations, bike parking, basic bike repair services, rest areas, first aid, and free pedicab rides.

Supporting Local Businesses and Neighborhood Connections
CicLAvia’s impact extends beyond a single day without cars. The event strengthens connections between neighborhoods while supporting local businesses, cultural organizations, and community groups. Open streets events help create opportunities for residents and visitors to discover the unique character and history of Los Angeles communities.
Metro Access Makes Getting to the Event Easy
According to CicLAvia Executive Director Romel Pascual, this South Los Angeles route is one of the most Metro-accessible events on the CicLAvia calendar, with five Metro stations located within one block of the route. The event also celebrates the diverse cultures, local businesses, restaurants, public art, and parks that define the area.
CicLAvia’s Growing Impact Across Los Angeles
For more than 15 years, CicLAvia has transformed city streets into temporary public parks, creating opportunities for Angelenos to experience Los Angeles in a new way. Inspired by Bogotá’s ciclovía program, CicLAvia has welcomed nearly two million participants across more than 369 miles of open streets throughout Los Angeles County.
Promoting Active Transportation and Sustainable Communities
By encouraging walking, cycling, skating, and other people-powered transportation, CicLAvia helps promote healthier lifestyles, cleaner air, and stronger community connections. The organization continues to advocate for safer streets, equitable transportation options, and more sustainable communities throughout the region.
