This past year, the SoCalCycling.com Team had the opportunity to work with RockyMounts, a small company out of Grand Junction, Colorado.
I had my eye on the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles for a long time, as I liked the super clean and very minimalistic design. They make your car look clean, which can be a tricky thing to accomplish. Not only do the RockyMounts products look solid, but RockyMounts uses high-quality materials to make their products, which will hold up over time and last.
The other thing that caught my eye was that RockyMounts also made different colors for the racks, as well. Although they don’t make the racks for the cars, RockyMounts does make all the accessories you could ever want to fit most racks.
RockyMounts has mounts for most of the outdoor sports you would need to take your equipment with you. Whether your skiing, snowboarding, cycling or just need a little extra room for storage for traveling.
The mounts we use are the BrassKnuckles mounts. They work well with Thule and Yakima racks as the RockyMounts are form fitting and work with variety of rack styles to accommodate round, square or aero shaped cross bars. RockyMounts has created a a versatile way to accommodate your rack system no matter the rack system your using.
The SoCalCycling.com Team is using the Rocky Mounts BrassKnuckles rooftop race ready bike mounts with locks for the racks and bikes.
The RockyMounts BrassKnuckles mount system is a valuable asset to the Team, as we keep the bikes on top of the car and continue to utilize the inside of the car for other team gear like coolers, wheels and other equipment. The BrassKnuckles mounts have locks that can be integrated in to the system to secure the bikes and the locks for the mounting system your using.
The RockyMounts BrassKnuckles mount system is a versatile system, so that you can use multiple bikes as the mounting system mounts to the front wheel. So as long as you don’t use a super fat wheel, then you are good to go. Most serious cyclists may own several bikes, so even if you have a fat tire bike they also sell an additional mounting kit. The system will fit bikes ranging from 20″ to 29”, so you should be covered as long as the bike doesn’t have a fender.
I have been using RockyMounts BrassKnuckles bike mounts for nearly a year now and they have been holding up really well. I am super impressed with how easily you can get your bikes on and off the car.
I also really like the fact that everything fold down nice and neat, so the system is aero looking and just super clean looking after you are finished being active for the day from whatever sport you may have been doing. The other really nice thing about the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles mounts is that they have held up really well in the weather. When I get the car washed, the mounts looks like new.
RockyMounts has created a very well made and quality product with the BrassKnuckles that will allow you to get out and enjoy your cycling lifestyle!
