Join Sierra Club San Diego on September 29th
Cyclists are invited to join BikeSD, Climate Action Campaign and Sierra Club San Diego to discuss how use of cycling can be expanded to help fight the Climate Crisis. Let’s Induce Cycling in our community.
Sierra Club San Diego shared,
As San Diego’s San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) projects the 5 Big Moves transportation vision, we’re encouraging them to go big on biking as a solution to Climate Crisis. We know SANDAG knows the importance of cycling, but in their latest proposal, bikes as a solution looked to be taking a back seat. We know we don’t have 30 years to wait to decarbonize, so we put together a presentation to SANDAG staff about this. It was well received, and they encouraged us to get this out to the public. So that’s what we’re doing. Please join us and invite your membership to a one hour meeting where we’ll make the argument for stronger bike policies throughout San Diego county as a solution to Climate Crisis. We hope you can share this with the cycling community and build the climate movement in new ways.

We will talk about successes and strategies others have had in adopting cycling as a form of transportation, the climate impacts we can avoid when we switch from cars to bikes, and how cycling can provide equity and better quality of life.
