The race is open to men and women of all ages. The 2021 cash prize purse is $10,000 and the largest in SoCal!
The .8-mile race course takes place in historic downtown Barrio Logan and will begin and end on Newton Avenue across from Perkins Elementary School. Spectators will have access to numerous views of the racers along city streets in the Barrio Logan area throughout the day.
Long-time Race Announcer and MGE Racing’s Ralph Elliott said, ” The Barrio Logan Grand Pris is one of the last “Downtown Criterium’s” in So-Cal, it’s a fast & challenging “figure 8 course” and YES, you have to be good to win! There are restaurants, coffee shops, tamale carts, indoor go-cart racing, SD vs LA Dodgers @ PETCO Park, all on the race course! So come on down to the 24th Annual Barrio Logan Grand Prix and enjoy the tortillas! Good luck racing in the Barrio!”
There will also be a free Kids Zone for youth participants offering free helmets and an opportunity to participate in a bicycle safety rodeo.
All racers 21+ up will receive a ticket to present at Thorn Brewing Co. for a free taster at the Barrio Logan Grand Prix after-party located at 1745 National Ave.
A portion of race proceeds will be donated to the Monarch School.
