SoCalCycling.com’s Christy Nicholson stock Bottecchia Gravel Monster has provided miles of fun and exploration on the local trails since the beginning of the pandemic offering a fun diversion. We thought it would be a cool project to lighten and upgrade the Bottecchia Gravel Monster with the new 2021 FSA AGX Gravel components, which reduced the bike weight by a significant 3.5 lbs, which made for a much lighter and more responsive ride.

FSA AGX Gravel Components Used in Upgrade
FSA SL-K AGX Wheelset
The wheels use a full carbon rim that is tubeless-ready and comes in a 27.5 (650B) and 700c (29inch) wheel size and are hand-built.
The wheels are also available for through-axle and standard quick-release frames. The SL-K AGX wheelset is also available for 10 and 11-speed configurations.
The spokes are direct pull and the hubs use cartridge bearing two in front and four in the rear.
FSA Mega Evo Threaded Bottom Bracket
The Mega EVO bottom bracket uses sealed cartridge outboard bearings and alloy threaded cups. The Mega EVO 386 Bottom Bracket has a large bearing to allow for large oversized spindles and is compatible with BSA frames. There is a ceramic version of the Mega EVO 386 Bottom Bracket.
FSA K-Force Modular AGX BB386 Crankset
The K-Force Modular AGX BB386 Crankset uses hallow carbon fiber Wirth a UD finish. The K-Force Modular AGX BB386 Crankset also uses CNC Modular chainrings alloy bolts and is available in 170mm, 172.5mm, and 175mm crank lengths.
FSA K-Force WE Disc Rotors
The K-Force WE Disc Rotors use a two-piece design with a forged aluminum carrier. The outer ring is stainless steel for durability. The K-Force WE Disc Rotors come in 140mm and 160mm rotor sizes. K-Force WE Disc Rotors are set up for a six-bolt pattern.
FSA A-Wing AGX Handlebars
The A-Wing AGX Handlebars have a 15 degree flared outward angle in the drops for better control. A-Wing AGX Handlebar also uses integrated cable routing. The A-Wing AGX Handlebars have sculpted contact points for better riding positions. The A-Wing AGX Handlebar alloy and comes in 400,420 and 440mm sizes widths.
FSA Power Touch Handlebar Tape
The FSA Power Touch Handlebar Tape uses a nanotechnology textured surface for an aggressive grip and is dustproof. The Power Touch Handlebar Tape uses gel padding for comfort and shock absorption for extra comfort and comes in multiple color choices to match your bike.
FSA After Burner -12 degree stem
The FSA After Burner stem has a negative 12-degree raise and is 3D forged and is CNC Machined from AL 6061/T6.
The front clamp is cold-forged for added strength. The FSA After Burner -12 degree stem uses Chromoly hardware.
