Valente Leads UCI Track Champion’s League After 3 Rounds

San Diego’s Jennifer Valente is currently leading the UCI Track Champion’s League after three rounds of racing. With the support of her Virginia’s Blue Ridge team and USA Cycling after a short training block with her teammates in Salem and Roanoke, Virginia, Jennifer headed out for a trans Atlantic winter track adventure in Europe.

The reigning Olympic and World omnium champion Jennifer Valente, retained the leaders jersey after three rounds of the UCI Track Champions League where the world’s best track cyclists battle for glory. The Endurance format includes a scratch race and an elimination race.

UCI Track Champion’s League Round 1-3 Recap

Round 1 of the UCI Track Champion’s League took place at the Velodrome Illes Balears, Mallorca. Thousands of fans inside the velodrome and watching on TV were treated to an audiovisual extravaganza of high speed, high adrenalin racing. Jennifer scored two second places in the Scratch race and elimination securing the top spot in the general classification.

“I felt good heading into Round 2 in Berlin, Germany. The UCI Track Champions League is a long competition but I’ll try and keep my consistency rolling. To be in the leader’s jersey without winning any of the races in Mallorca was a little unexpected, but it’s certainly a good start.”

Round 2 of the UCI Track Champion’s League took place November 19t at the Berlin Velodrome in Germany. Again, Jennifer Valente came out on top showing consistency and form.

In Round 3 of the UCI Track Champion’s League, the athletes headed to Paris,France which is the site of the upcoming 2024 Olympic track events. A thrilling third round of the UCI Track Champions League in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines saw Great Britain’s Katie Archibald closing in on Jennifer Valente’s lead with only one point separating them.

The final two rounds will take place next Saturday and Sunday at Lee Valley Velo Park, London.
