New power records set on the roads of Virginia’s Blue Ridge
Camp Bethel in Botetourt County, Virginia is an exceptional location for junior women’s cycling training camps. The access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, rolling country roads, with some steep pitchy climbs provided the perfect terrain for hard training days. TWENTY24 Aevolo held their spring training camp combined with the Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY24 juniors. The U18 athletes pushed each other to new power thresholds, they all took it to new levels of suffering on the bike and took away new skills they can implement in upcoming races.
Pushing Limits: TWENTY24 Aevolo Spring Camp
“Through dedication and hard work, the riders at training camp have shown remarkable improvements, pushing their limits and surpassing their own expectations. Their commitment to constant growth and excellence is truly inspiring.” Kristin Armstrong
Spotlight on Athletes: Stories of Success
Lauren Weigel has performed well this season, assuming her role on the team as a strong domestique. Lauren achieved her best power numbers at training camp and is looking forward to proving her form at the LaCrosse Omnium and Junior Road Nationals. “I had a super fun time at camp! It is always nice to spend time with teammates, getting to know them better on and off the bike. Personally, it was great to see how strong I am on some of these climbs this year, setting a new 20 minute PR and FTP. We had many challenging rides this week, we are all super pumped for the rest of the season!”
Helena Jones proved her form to be strong and consistent so far this season. Delivering multiple podium finishes at the USA Cycling selection races in Valley of the Sun and La Primavera Lago Vista. Helena is gearing up to race at Redlands Bicycle Classic and a European trip with the USA Cycling Junior Women’s National team in April. “Training camp was so much fun. I am really happy to be surrounded by a team of girls that work so well together. In a way it felt like I had known them for years even though I’m new to the TWENTY24 family. I’m looking forward to a strong block of racing in April with the National Team.”
Welcoming a New Addition: Bridget Ciambotti
TWENTY24 Aevolo has added a new member to our team, Bridget Ciambotti. Bridget is seventeen years old and hails from Charlottesville, Virginia. She is a junior at the Miller School of Albemarle, where Bridget is valedictorian of her class. Bridget also races for her school on the road and mountain bike. Bridget had stellar performances at Valley of the Sun and La Primavera Lago Vista, where she came away with a win in the road race and overall omnium title. We are so excited to welcome Bridget to our roster, we are confident she will be a great addition to our program. “I had so much fun at team camp; I really enjoyed getting to know everybody and riding with them. I’m looking forward to the rest of the 2024 season with TWENTY24 Aevolo.”
