San Luis Rey Road Race & SCNCA Championships

The 34th edition of the San Luis Rey (SLR) Road Race was held on a beautiful hilly course in North San Diego County.

Just a short drive from Orange and LA County, the SLR road race will took place over multiple out-and-back laps of a 14-mile course with an undulating 400′ climb over the last 2 miles. Race categories consisted of all levels of competitors–from juniors and beginners to professionals.

2024 SCNCA ELITE & MASTERS STATE ROAD RACE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

In addition, the San Luis Rey Road Race hosted the SCNCA State Road Race Championships for Elite Pro/1/2, Cat 3, and Masters categories. There was prize money for the Pro/1/2 fields, and free California State Champion jerseys to the winners.

With a later date change from previous years, some of SoCal’s heavy hitters were missing from the start line as they were racing at the Tulsa Tough, but SoCal’s hardcore roadies showed up to throw down for a shot at the win and SCNCA State Road Race Championship Title.

The Pro 1-2 race saw a four-man group get up the road and Jose Miguel Reyes Morales (Transportes Lain) came out on top to finish on the top step of the podium. Ana Hernadez (Juquilita Cycling Team) took the win in the Cat 1 Women’s race.
