The 2025 edition of the Sea Otter Classic is set to be better than ever, bringing tens of thousands of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts from around the globe together for an unparalleled experience that blends competition with a celebration of all things cycling and outdoor.
World-Class Racing
The Sea Otter Classic is renowned for its variety of competitive events, ranging from mountain biking and road racing to gravity and gravel riding. Whether you’re looking to participate or experience the best in the world go head-to-head, the excitement is nonstop.
New for 2025, gravel racers can choose to take in the natural beauty of the Fort Ord National Monument over the course of one, two, or three laps of flowy singletrack and wide-open fire roads. Each lap covers over 30 miles and 3,500 feet of climbing.
Unparalleled Expo Experience
The Sea Otter Classic expo is the largest in North America, with over 1,000 of the biggest and most innovative brands showcasing the latest and greatest in cycling and outdoor lifestyle technology, gear, and apparel. Here, you’ll get a firsthand look at new products, interact with industry leaders, and be able to test the latest bikes on the market.
Family-Friendly Fun
Not just for die-hard riders, the Sea Otter Classic is a family-friendly event with activities for all ages. Kids can enjoy their own races, demo bikes and interactive zones, and take in the festival atmosphere, food, and entertainment.
Budding MTB racers will be able to stretch their legs even further in 2025, with an upgraded, six-mile Fuego Short course providing the right amount of challenge for the next big names in cycling.
A brand-new 10.7-mile course for the Family Off-Road Tour will offer parents and kids a mix of scenic fire roads and singletrack – an accessible option for riders of all ages and abilities.
Scenic Riding Opportunities
Monterey, California provides the perfect backdrop for unmatched scenic rides. With courses winding through coastal roads and rugged mountain trails, the Sea Otter Classic offers participants and spectators a chance to appreciate the beauty of California’s landscapes while engaging in their passion for cycling.
2025 offers new breathtaking rides and routes for road and off-road enthusiasts alike. The untimed 18-mile Robles Off-Road Tour route will loop across Fort Ord’s beautiful western side with 1,900 feet of climbing, promising a rewarding end to the weekend.
Likewise, the Gran Fondo Carmelo returns to the classic Monterey Century route and a host of picture-postcard views as riders tour the vineyards and fields of Salinas Valley, finishing with a challenging climb back into Laguna Seca.
