Join the Breakaway from Cancer Masters Cycling Team while they ride stages of the Amgen Tour of California to help promote awareness for Amgen’s Breakaway from Cancer® initiative. To raise funds for the charity, the team is seeking other riders to ride a stage with the group.
Participating riders are provided access to a VIP finish line hospitality suite (a $275 value). This VIP Experience includes gourmet catering with hot and cold dishes, desert selections plus beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee bar serving. While enjoying the food, riders rest watching a live TV feed of the approaching race and watch the finish live. The donation for the Breakaway Challenge is tax deductable.
The Breakaway Rides can be challenging and are catered for stronger recreational or completive cyclists. Riders select which stage(s) they wish to participate. The rides typically leave between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning to ensure arrival in the finishing city about one hour prior to race finish. Race finish arrive time it typically between 2:30 and 3:00pm and rolling support is provided during each ride.
Breakaway from Cancer® is a complimentary component to Amgen’s sponsorship of the Amgen Tour of California to increase awareness of the important resources available to cancer patients, from prevention to education, and patient care to advocacy and support.
