Experience Arizona’s Landscapes at the Tour de Scottsdale on October 14

The 9th Annual Tour de Scottsdale, which is hosted by the DC Ranch Community Council, is an annual cycling event that will offer 70-and 30-mile routes which winds around the McDowell Sonoran Preserve encompassing mountainous views of Scottsdale, Cave Creek and Carefree.  Every mile benefits the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, the organization that stewards the Preserve.

Normally held the first week of October, the annual cycling event for 2012 and going forward is now the second Sunday of the month on October 14. The later date was set in hopes of providing cyclists some reprieve from the late Arizona heat and a more comfortable ride. Both the 70-and 30-mile rides will launch from Market Street at DC Ranch and are open to the public.

“The Community Council has pushed back the event date to continue our commitment to rider comfort,” said Community Council Executive Director Suzanne Walden-Wells. “We hope the later date will help reduce riders’ heat-related injuries and provide participants with more cycling-friendly weather for even more enjoyable rides.”

Cyclists can register for the 70-and 30-mile rides at Active.com.
