In just a few days, on Saturday, April 20 partaking in the most beloved cycling festival in the country: the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Sea Otter Classic will premier in Monterey, CA, adding its unmistakable Italian twist to this four-day outdoor sport and tradeshow event, which attracts a total of 10,000 riders from multiple disciplines and about 50,000 fans. The Gran Fondo Giro d’italia will start from the world-famous Laguna Seca Race Track and will offer two different routes, Carmel Valley (96 miles) and Coastal (49 miles), open to riders of all capabilities willing to experience a real “Italian style” Gran Fondo in one of the greatest cycling areas in the US. If an urban environment suits your taste, then participate in the brand new Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Five Boro. On May 5, experience America’s largest cycling event, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, only a few hours after the original Giro d’Italia starts in Naples (Italy). Granfondisti will start in front of more than 30,000 cyclists riding on 40 miles of traffic-free streets throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Participants will challenge themselves with the timed climb up the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and enjoy stunning views of the harbor. Back on the West coast, the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Pasadena on Sunday, June 2 will delight you with a breeze. Known as the toughest Gran Fondo of the West, this event will certainly be reminiscent of some Giro d’Italia mountain views: and what a climb… Organizers are working to bring as much Italian allure in the experience as you can get, without having to travel overseas to experience it!
And, to complete the season, sweat in style in Florida, at the classic Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Miami-Coral Gables on Sunday, November 10. The 2012 edition saw memorable courses, pictures with the signorine, the original Giro’s trophy, and Giro’s legends of past and present. What surprises will await for you there this year?
