Bike Profile: Logan Fiedler’s (SPY GIANT RIDE p/b MRI) Giant Propel Team Bike

The SPY GIANT RIDE p/b MRI Elite Cycling Team is fortunate to work with the top companies in the sport and is now in the 2nd year of partnership with Giant Bicycles, USA. With Giant’s launch of their aero road frame the Propel, it was an easy choice which bike the team would straddle in the crit dominant Southern California race scene. The slippery and sleek Propel combines features such as the Over Drive steer tube and Aero System shaping technology to give the propel an ultra aero profile while remaining extremely stiff. This is the same bike that launched Marcel Kittle to 4 stage wins at the Tour de France in July.

The bikes are wrapped in SRAM Red 22 componentry and mounted on Zipp 303 Firecrest tubulars. SRAM’s double tap technology is fast, light and ergonomic, providing 22 gears with no compromises in weight or gear adjustment in any gearing combination. The Zipp wheels slice though the wind while the wide depth helps keep the ride smooth, absorbing the hard cornering and bumpy terrain with ease. Come race day or a long training ride, the bike is as much fun to look at as it is to ride.

Taking good care of the riders and bikes alike, our team is happy to call RIDE Cyclery in Encinitas home and the only place we go for PRO level service and support. The shop is a popular north county San Diego meeting spot for group rides and also the starting point for any SPY Holiday Ride.

Our title sponsor, SPY Optic, has become well known for their support of cycling throughout the country and are the cycling mad zealots behind the Belgian Waffle Ride, held each spring in San Diego. SPY is an innovator in Performance eyewear and provides the team with the latest styles such as the Daft and Happy Screw along with lifestyle shades to keep us looking good off the bike too.

MRI Endurance is our presenting sponsor and, along with Harmony Bar, takes care of all our nutritional needs. MRI EO2 Edge and Surge are extremely effective in buffering lactic acid during hard efforts and replacing electrolytes while the Harmony Bars keep properly fueled with their yummy goodness.

Keeping us looking good on the bike are the beautifully designed and manufactured kits from StageOne Sports, durable and comfortable helmets from Giro and Lake shoes take care of transferring the power from the rider to the pedals. Also along for the ride with us is Razer who makes the best computer and audio accessories in the business. On any training ride or pre-race warm up, you’ll see the SPY GIANT RIDE racers wit their Razer headphones in, grooving along to their favorite tunes. Post ride, there’s nothing like relaxing in some recovery tights from SKINS.

Our team has assembled a fantastic group of sponsor partners and we’re most grateful to get to use their world class products. Without question, we would not be having the successful season we are without their generous support. Thank you to all of our sponsors and see you at the races!
