The Chuck Pontius Omnium was held this past weekend and included a Road Race that was the Elite Road Race Championships and a Criterium in an Omnium format.
The Pro 1, 2 Road Race had a stacked field with many Pros in town for the upcoming San Dimas Stage Race and Redlands Bicycle Classic, including the likes of Phil Gaimon (Optum p/b Kelly Benefits), Robin Carpenter (Hincapie) and Jon Hornbeck (Hincapie). In the Pro 1, 2 race, Robin Carpenter (Hincapie) won the grueling race with Dave Santos (KHS-Maxxis-JL Velo) finishing as best amateur and  winning the State Championship Title. In the Women’s race, Gretchen Stumhofer (SPY Giant Ride pb GQ6) took the win and State Championship Title.

The next day featured the Chuck Pontius Criterium and the chance to gain more points for the Overall Omnium. In the Pro 1,2 race Fabrizio Von Nacher  (KHS-Maxxis-JL Velo) took the win in the Crierium and teammate Ulises Castillo won the Omnium Overall.  In the women’s race, Pam Schuster (SPY Giant Ride pb GQ6) sprinted to victory.
