Jenson USA Kicks Off 2015 Kommute for Kids Campaign

This coming Thursday, May 28, Jenson USA, one of the nation’s largest retailers of bicycles, parts and accessories in Riverside, CA, will kick-off its annual Kommute For Kids bicycle donation program culminating in early December when local elementary fourth through sixth grade students will receive a surprise Christmas gift of a new bicycle at a special Holiday Bicycle Giveaway assembly at their school compliments of Jenson USA and its employees. Last year, sixty deserving children were the recipients of a shiny new bike for the holidays, selected on the basis of demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and scholastic improvement.

Kommute For Kids is a double-edged campaign. First, it rewards youngsters who excel in school, and second, it motivates Jenson USA employees to commute to work by bicycle as often as possible. The Kommute For Kids program works like this: Jenson USA employees are given the opportunity to become directly involved in the annual Holiday Bicycle Giveaway. Each time the Jenson USA aggregate work-force reaches their mileage goal for commuting to work per employee, Team Jenson USA powers another donated bicycle for the cause. Individual Jenson USA employees have six months of commuting to work in order to earn as many bicycle donations as possible.

“We’re launching the 2015 Kommute For Kids campaign this coming Thursday, May 28,” commented Michael Cachat, founder and CEO of Jenson USA. “This is the earliest we have ever started the program, but because it’s such an important ingredient of our ongoing community outreach effort to promote bicycling, it just seemed appropriate.”

In order to commemorate the campaign kick-off on Thursday, Jenson USA employees are being asked to meet at Sprouts Farmers Market on Alessandro Blvd. in Riverside at 7:00am and join Cachat in a 2.5 mile bicycle commute to the Jenson USA headquarters on Eastridge Rd. Upon arrival at corporate headquarters, a complimentary breakfast will be served until 9:30am.

“A bicycle should be an integral part of every child’s experience,” commented Cachat. “We are very fortunate to partner with the East Hills Business Council of Riverside to continue this special holiday tradition. With the support and dedication of our employees, I know we will be able to make this an even more joyous and memorable holiday season for scores of youngsters than ever before.”
