In the women’s race NorCal’s Mary Maroon was the main instigator and was in several breakaways, including the winning break which included Pam Schuster (SPY/Giant/Ride) and Nicole Brandt (Monster Media). In the three up sprint for the win and title, Maroon was the fastest followed by Schuster in 2nd and Brandt in 3rd. Maroon was not eligible for the SCNCA Elite Criterium Championships title, since she live in Norcal, so Pam Schuster took the honors and the bear jersey.

In the Pro Men’s race, two time Olympian Bobby Lea put on a clinic and rode in a solo break for half the 75 minute race. He was eventually caught after KHS got organized and brought it back. With about 20 minutes to go another break including Fabrizio Von Nacher (KHS/Maxxis/JL Velo), Josh Ruiz (SoCalCycling.com) and Bobby Lea (Maloja Pushbikers) powered away with Von Nacher and Lea sticking to the end with Lea driving the break. Von Nacher was the fresher of two and won the sprint for the win.  Corey Williams (Incycle / Cannondale) won the field sprint for 3rd and also took home the SCNCA Elite Criterium Championships title.
