Para-Cyclist Matt Bigos heads into a big season with some extra backing. In addition to his long-time sponsors Nitro Circus and Engine Ice, Bigos has retained Velo Hangar and Enve as well as adding some new support from Focus Bikes, WD-40 and Casp Performance Cycling.
“The Olympic year is a really big year,” Bigos said. “This is my second run at trying to make a Games team. In 2012 I was bitterly close to making it. This year, having more years under my belt racing, I have a better idea of what I need to do and where I need to be. I have a really busy schedule this year; I have a lot of events. So having some really good companies behind me takes a little bit of the stress off and just makes it easier.”
In the winter he will put his focus on the track in his quest to medal in the Pursuit and Scratch race at the 2016 Para Track World Championships in March in Italy. Next up will be his aim to medal in the Road Race and Team Trial at UCI Para Road World Cup Series in South Africa and Europe. Bigos will also be looking to represent the U.S. and qualify for the Rio Paralympic Games, September 7-18. In addition to his efforts internationally, Bigos will aim to add to his streak of the longest-consecutive USAC National Paralympic Road Race Champion with title number six.

About Matt Bigos
Twelve years ago Matt Bigos was involved in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. He was told, at age 20, that he would never walk again. Bigos had been a motocross athlete for most of his life, so he transferred his “never quit” attitude to rehab. Determination and hard work has earned him a spot on the U.S. Paralympic National Cycling Team Roster. Matt has been competing as a professional para-cyclist since 2011 and has been selected as a 2016 U.S. Paralypmic National Team B member.
